Hello, my name is Jack Hudson. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I want to welcome you to my site. Since you are here, you are likely interested in exploring options for change in your life. Although at times change may seem impossible, it can occur. Personally, I have learned that it is possible to make positive changes, even when you don’t believe it is possible. I have seen those changes take place in the caring, supportive environment of psychotherapy. Please take a few moments to ask yourself these questions.

Are you depressed? Are you finding life less enjoyable? Does it feel like you are moving through each day without a sense of purpose? Are you less hopeful about your future? Do you feel fatigued, unmotivated, unable to focus, make decisions? Are your relationships unsatisfying? Are you feeling sad, detached, and plagued with self-doubt. Do you react to stress with feelings of anxiety, irritability, and insomnia? Have you ever been diagnosed as having a depressive disorder?

Are you overcome with worry and fear that prevents you from enjoying life? Are you a worrier? Do you always expect the worst outcome in situations? Do you find yourself paralyzed fear of the unknown? Do you look for excuses to avoid social gatherings because you are afraid of embarrassment? When you become anxious, do you experience physical discomfort such as increased heart rate, difficulty with breathing, tightness in your chest, and increased perspiration?

Are you having difficulty controlling impulsive behavior? Are you experiencing wide fluctuations in your mood? Do you have a problem controlling your behavior when your mood is especially "up"? Do friends tell you that your mood is too high? Are you unable to control the impulse to spend money even though it causes problems? Do you engage in risky sexual behaviors? Do others question your decision making abilities at times? Have you ever been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder?

Are you facing major life changes? Are you facing the loss of a relationship? Has a loved one died? Are you entering into a new phase of life? Do you feel uncertain of where your life is headed and need some guidance? Are you coming to terms with your sexual identity or preference? Are you having difficulty reconciling your identity as a gay or lesbian with traditional family values? Perhaps you are searching for a spiritual connection in your life.

Are you a caretaker of others? Do you place other’s needs before your own? Do you always seem to give more than you receive in your relationships? Do feel hurt when others don’t respond in kind? Do you have difficulty setting boundaries with family and friends? Has anyone referred to you as having codependent behavior?

Are you addicted or in danger of addiction to substances? Do your use of alcohol and or other substances cause problems in your life? Have you tried to abstain from alcohol and or drugs, but ultimately returned to use -- even when you are aware of the negative consequences? Are you less effective at work? Are the people in your life concerned about your use? Are you interested in recovery?

If you identify with any of these symptoms of emotional distress or addiction, I am available to assist you. Counseling is an effective tool that can assist you in overcoming each of these problems. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 20 years, and, as a licensed therapist, I am dedicated to improving each client’s mental health. My private practice is designed to be relatively small. By doing so, I am able to focus more attention on each client. The ultimate goal of therapy is effect an enhancement the individual’s quality of life. I look forward to discussing ways that we can work together to make your life better.
